I began my career at Edelman in New York City working across Spirits and Personal Care brands including Wild Turkey Bourbon, Espolon Tequila, Playtex Sport, Hawaiian Tropic, and more.
Campaigns included celebrity/athlete partnerships, influencer programming, and traditional PR outreach and media relations.
MOVING IN-HOUSE TO ANHEUSER-BUSCH
After four years at Edelman, I moved in-house to Anheuser-Busch and worked across a variety of business areas in my nearly five year tenure.
Beyond Beer
I spent 1 1/2 years leading PR for the Beyond Beer portfolio which included BON & VIV Spiked Seltzer, RITAS, BABE Wine, Cutwater Spirits, and additional up and coming innovations. I managed the PR agency partners across all brands, designed the communications plans, and briefed spokespeople.
I also worked my first Super Bowl ad with BON & VIV and my first on-site Super Bowl activation with BABE Wine.
corporate social responsibility
Following my time on the Beyond Beer team, I moved to the Anheuser-Busch “Better World” department where I stretched my skills beyond traditional PR. My role was focused on nonprofit relations, working with the Anheuser-Busch Foundation, and leading Communications efforts for the Responsible Drinking program.
During this time I had the opportunity to learn more about 360 marketing and brought to life Anheuser-Busch’s partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and Uber called Decide to Ride. This landmark campaign was a first of its kind for all three partners and is still running today.
Craft Beer
After 1 1/2 years on the Better World team, an opportunity opened up for me to move onto the Anheuser-Busch Craft team. This was a dream come true as I have always had a passion for craft beer and had sought to work in that space since I joined A-B.
I was a regional communications manager focusing on the following breweries: 10 Barrel Brewing Co. (Bend, OR), Appalachian Mountain Brewery (Boone, NC), Breckenridge Brewery (Denver, CO), Four Peaks Brewing (Tempe, AZ), Redhook Brewery (Seattle, WA), Veza Sur (Miami, FL), Wicked Weed Brewing (Asheville, NC), Widmer Brothers Brewing (Portland, OR), Wynwood Brewing Co. (Miami, FL).
During this time I honed in my skills in local media relations and managing tighter budgets and varying scopes for PR agencies. I had the opportunity to travel to all of these breweries and assist them in building communications and PR plans and strengthening their approaches from an Earned perspective.
I also oversaw Crisis Communications for these breweries and assisted them with announcements large and small.
